  • Spoon or Basting Brush: To coat the pork chops with the apple cider glaze.
  • Cutting Board: For prepping the pork chops and any vegetables.

  • Measuring Cups and Spoons: To measure out ingredients like apple cider, mustard, and honey.

Ingredients

  • 4 Boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 1/2 Cups Apple cider
  • 2 Tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tsp Fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 tsp dried thyme)
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme springs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pork Chops:
Begin by patting the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Sear the Pork Chops:
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, place the pork chops in the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side until they develop a golden-brown crust. Remove from the skillet and set aside.Tip: Searing the pork chops before glazing locks in the juices and ensures a crispy exterior.
  • Make the Apple Cider Glaze:
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then pour in the apple cider, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, and thyme leaves. Stir the mixture and bring it to a simmer.
  • Reduce the Glaze:
Let the glaze simmer for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reduces by half and thickens to a syrupy consistency. The apple cider will concentrate its flavors, giving the glaze a deep, sweet-tart profile.
  • Coat the Pork Chops:
Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the glaze over the top. Allow the pork chops to cook for another 5-7 minutes, basting them frequently with the apple cider glaze. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).Tip: For an extra burst of flavor, add a splash of apple cider vinegar just before serving to brighten up the dish.
  • Serve and Garnish:
Once the pork chops are cooked through, transfer them to a serving plate. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the skillet over the top, and garnish with fresh thyme sprigs if desired. Serve hot with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
