  • 2 Large lemons, juiced
  • 1 Lemon, sliced for garnish
  • 1 Cup Tonic water
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Lemon Syrup:

Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.

Squeeze the juice from the two large lemons. You should get about 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice.
Strain the juice to remove any seeds and pulp.

In a large pitcher, combine the cooled lemon syrup, fresh lemon juice, and tonic water.
Stir well to ensure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  • Serve:
    Fill glasses with ice cubes.
Pour the bitter lemon tonic over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.
Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.
