Equipment

  • Champagne Flutes: To preserve the fizz and present your mimosa in a classic, elegant way. The tall shape helps retain carbonation for longer sipping enjoyment.
  • Citrus Juicer: For fresh-squeezed orange juice that’s bursting with flavor and free from added sugars. A handheld or electric juicer works great.
  • Glass Carafe: Ideal for serving juices or batching mimosas for guests. It adds elegance to your table and keeps your drink station organized.
  • Ice Bucket: Keeps your champagne chilled throughout the event. An insulated bucket with tongs or a lid helps maintain the perfect temperature.
  • Bar Spoon: Perfect for gently stirring your mimosa if layering ingredients or adding fruit. Long handles make for easy, mess-free mixing.

Ingredients

  • Chilled Champagne or sparkling wine: 750 ml (one bottle)
  • Freshly squeezed orange juice: 750 ml (about 6-8 oranges, depending on size and juiciness)
  • Triple sec (optional, for a hint of citrus sweetness): 30 ml
  • Garnish: Orange slices or strawberries, for an elegant touch

Instructions

  • Chill Your Ingredients:
Begin by ensuring your Champagne and orange juice are well-chilled. This keeps your Mimosa deliciously cold and refreshing.
  • Mix:
In a large pitcher, combine one part Champagne with one part orange juice. This classic ratio is perfect for balancing the robust flavors of the wine with the bright, tangy flavor of the juice.
  • Add a Splash of Triple Sec:
This is my secret to a nuanced Mimosa. Just a splash will do to add that perfect hint of citrusy sweetness.
  • Stir Gently:
With a long spoon, stir gently to mix. Over-stirring can deflate the fizz, and we definitely want to keep those bubbles lively!
  • Serve Immediately:
Pour the mixture into fluted champagne glasses to maximize bubble retention. Garnish with a slice of orange or a strawberry on the rim of the glass.
