Ingredients

  • 2 Medium oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 1 Cup Fresh blackberries
  • 1 1/2 Cups Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain, depending on your sweetness preference)
  • 1 Tbsp Honey (optional, for added sweetness)
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla extract (if using plain yogurt)
  • Halloween-themed sprinkles (optional, for extra festivity)
  • Mint leaves (for garnish, optional)

Equipment

  • Cutting board: For cutting the oranges.
  • Knife: To peel and segment the oranges.
  • Mixing bowl: To mix the yogurt, honey, and vanilla (if using).
  • Spoon or spatula: For layering the yogurt and fruit.
  • Serving glasses or jars: Clear glasses or mason jars to showcase the layers.
  • Measuring spoons: To measure honey and vanilla extract.

Method

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Fruit
Peel and segment the oranges. Remove any seeds and place the segments into a small bowl. If you want to make them extra spooky, you can chop the segments into smaller pieces for a more "textured" appearance.
Rinse the blackberries and set them aside to dry on a paper towel.
  2. Step 2: Sweeten the Yogurt
In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt with the honey and vanilla extract (if using plain yogurt). Stir well to ensure it’s evenly sweetened.
Optional: Divide the yogurt into two bowls. If you want to add food coloring, mix a few drops of orange food coloring into one bowl for the bottom layer of the parfait.
  3. Step 3: Assemble the Layers
In clear serving glasses or mason jars, start by layering a spoonful of the yogurt at the bottom of each glass.
Next, add a layer of orange segments, pressing them against the side of the glass for a visual effect.
Add another layer of yogurt, followed by a layer of blackberries.
Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled, ending with a top layer of yogurt.
  4. Step 4: Garnish and Serve
For an extra Halloween touch, sprinkle some Halloween-themed sprinkles or small edible decorations on top.
Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a hint of green, and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
