Instructions
If you're using store-bought pizza dough, remove it from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to relax. If you're making homemade pizza dough, follow the instructions below.
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating to heat it up.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large heart shape, about 1/4 inch thick. You can use a rolling pin to help shape it, and gently pull and shape the dough to form a heart.
Place the shaped dough onto a baking sheet or pizza peel lightly dusted with cornmeal or flour to prevent sticking.Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edge for the crust.Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.Add your desired toppings, arranging them evenly over the cheese.
If you're using a pizza stone, carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone using a pizza peel.If you're baking on a baking sheet, place the sheet in the preheated oven.Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
Once the pizza is done baking, remove it from the oven.Optionally, brush the crust with a little olive oil for added flavor and shine.Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing.Serve your heart-shaped pizza slices hot and enjoy with your Valentine!
Notes
Make Ahead and Storage
Make Ahead: Prepare the dough a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Let it come to room temperature before rolling out and shaping.
Storage: Leftover pizza can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place it in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes to restore its crispy texture.
